PROCESSBONUS ROUND!
This is something ive been trying to do lately where I just straight up copy pages from an artist I admire, like Hayoa Miyazaki in this case. Its what people do with master-work paintings in museums and its the same idea here. Im trying to learn stuff. Hopefully something sunk in here. By the way I kinda got this idea from Brandon Graham when I read his little blurb in the back of his comic, King City.
Thats my poor attempt up there and then following is the original page.

No one better to learn from than Miyazaki! In school I would literally trace his pages and fill in shading with solid blacks or washes or something else unlike his hatching, just to kinda get a focus on his composition and dark-light values.

This is from Nausicaa, volume 4. By Hayoa Miyazaki.

that's kinda what I thought, after reading the wiki on Miyazaki but wasn't sure. Actually it wasn't until I read this post that I realized he had done manga.
